Listen first
Needs matter. Dreams do, too. We begin with both.
A new gathering place for Utica
Hope Chapel is imagining more than a building. We are building a bridge—from potential to possibility, from isolation to community, from surviving to thriving.
Historic faith.
Future-facing love.
01 — The vision
For generations, Hope Chapel has been a place where faith becomes action. Our community center carries that legacy forward: a safe, vibrant home for learning, recreation, connection, and opportunity.
Not a program done to the community. A place built with the community—where every neighbor’s gifts have room to breathe.
Needs matter. Dreams do, too. We begin with both.
Safety is more than walls; it is being known and welcomed.
Programs become pathways when relationships lead the way.

Rooted here
Hope Chapel is Utica’s oldest Black church. Our story has always been about making room for freedom, dignity, and a future. The community center is the next chapter—not a departure from our history, but its living continuation.
